About

Forever obsessed with my two cats,

Juno & Spoopy

A little about me

My name is Robin King and I am fascinated with the substantial ways even the most subtle design choices can transform an experience. From taking apart my mom's blowdryer when I was young, to learning about systems thinking theory, I'm constantly seeking to understand how things work, and why it was made to work that way.

I graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2022 with a BFA in Industrial Design, and from MassArt in 2025 with a Master's degree in Design Innovation.

Along the way, I've worked as a UX/UI designer for early-stage startups, non-profits, and research-driven teams. My experience spans product strategy, interaction design, and prototyping (both digital and physical!), often working as the bridge between vision and implementation in small, fast-moving environments.

Values

📚

There's always more to learn.

Everyone's a constant work in progress and constantly evolving, and feedback is necessary for growth. I am always looking for ways to improve myself, whether that be my physical and mental health, or new skills and hobbies. Just this month I've Procreate!

🧘‍♂️

Stay on your toes.

No plan ever goes as expected, and there is never just a one-size-fits-all way to do something. I've learned in my design practice that the design process is very rarely linear, and always requires adaptability. I try to keep a large repertoire of design skills maintained and available, so I am prepared to pivot when needed.

🙏

Kindness in everything.

When designing experiences for people, it's important to keep in mind the drastic impacts a design choice can create in their lives. I always try to approach not only my design practice but also my day-to-day interactions with kindness. At the end of the day, we all face our own battles, and some gentleness goes a long way!
